Two blockbuster summer movies to avoid

Well I thought they sucked anyway. Others may have a different take.

Except for Am I Racist, which I saw numerous times in theaters, I only go to a movie in recent years when I have grandkids in tow, which was the case a couple times in the last few weeks.

I took two kids to Mission Impossible -- The (hopefully) Final Reckoning and two more to Jurassic World Rebirth.

My expectations were pretty low...but not low enough as it turned out. However, the kids enjoyed themselves which was the main thing.

Anyway, Mission Impossible went on...and on...and on...for almost 3 solid hours. I lost the ridiculous plot about 20 minutes in...something about Tom Cruz saving the world.

Jurassic World was at least a bit shorter but even more idiotic if such a thing could be possible. Suffice it to say that I ended up rooting hard for the dinosaurs.

In fact, the only good thing about either flick was the popcorn which not cheap at $10 for a large bucket with one free refill. Oh and the Mission Impossible theme music was cool.

These movies don't do character development. It's just a lot of high-tech special effects and stuff getting blown up. Boring as hell.

But the thing that really jumped out at me was the DEI angle, which was pervasive in both movies. In Jurassic Park, the team sent onto dinosaur island consisted of: an ***-kicking girl-boss white female who was there to protect the white males and tell them what to do; a noble and virile black male in charge of the boat; his noble black crewmate; a white butch-type presumed lesbian crewmate; a nerdy white male scientist; an evil white male villain working for a pharmaceutical company; and four hispanics, to include a darling little girl, who get rescued at sea and end up as unplanned members of the expedition.

In Mission Impossible, it's the same idea. Every scene and every set...the submarine...the carrier...piloting the Ospreys...the security personnel...the President and her cabinet. Blacks and females in charge. The Mission team itself: OK, Tom Cruz...then two girls, one of whom is an ***-kicker who can beat up 3 white males at a time...a black guy who pilots the plane...a white British guy...and the apparently mandatory noble black guy who gives up his life to save Tom Cruz but not before leaving an inspiring taped message that Tom listens to at the end of the flick.

The propaganda behind all of this is relentless and an insult to the intelligence of the audience...though it probably goes over their heads for the most part.

It must be uncomfortable to watch a long movie in the theater, with that itchy robe on, while trying to see through the eye holes of your hood.

At least you could have spelled Tom Cruise's name correctly. After all, he's a straight white male, so he matters.

Isn't that pretty much what every Mission Impossible sequel has been after the original movie?

I always love seeing that in all of the action movies. Some diminutive female taking out multiple well-trained males much larger than her. I remember when I first started in martial arts I had a female sensei, 2nd degree, as an instructor. One of the other students asked her about defending herself: she pointed at me and said against someone built like me she'd have to use all of her skill just to defend herself.

Lost on no one is the fact that Jerry is such a misogynistic racist POS cuck that, while watching a movie where man-eating dinosaurs roam the earth in modern day, the scariest thing to him is a virile black man, and the most unbelievable thing to him, is that a woman has shoes on and is outside of the kitchen.

You've lost any semblance of decorum. I was rooting for you, but on to ignore you go.

The guy who thought it was appropriate to post porn for kids and other innocents to see, after being banned for posting porn for kids and other innocents to see ... is claiming someone else lost any semblance of decorum because that person didn't think it was appropriate to degrade women and black men. Hey, we'll always have that time when you thought Trump's EO was effective now, and you tried to be an a-hole about it, but it turned out you were wrong and had to eat crow, but couldn't do it like a man ... you had to try to get potshots in even while admitting you had no clue what you were saying.

Please remember that anyone that points out cultural nonsense is a "misogynistic racist POS cuck." 👌👌

Yep. And wearing that robe and hood is so dated. Since LBJ's rebranding efforts, dems now have more of an Antifa look.

Those devious Dems ... can you believe they've moved on from lynching, to now portraying black men as noble and virile (per Jerry)?

Is there no limit to their racism against blacks?

How would a Trump supporter portray a black man in a film? Do tell.

Joe, I understand and have done the same thing in the past, but you do end up losing the entertainment value of his ranting and the educational experience of what a twisted Democrat mind looks like. I mean, that's instructional material that might come in handy at some point.

I saw Elio. Some funny moments. I'd say for kids it was worth watching.

It's pretty clear they took it to the cutting room and got rid of A TON of "the message" before releasing it.

That's a good thing too... because the base story is cute.

Way TMI!!!

Yeah, half this guy's posts suggest strongly that he's gay but can't bring himself to own up. I first figured that out when I posted a picture of Matt to taunt him and he proceeded to do a weirdo analysis of Matt's looks in a way that no normal straight guy would ever do.

To be clear, there's nothing wrong with being gay. But the behaviors that attach to the orientation...different story.

Then again, various types of heterosexual behavior, now completely accepted and normalized, are no less morally problematic.

And let's not even get into all the deviant stuff that in our supposedly enlightened age has been declared OK-fine.

Sex is like dynamite. FAFO. It's been that way since mankind crawled from the primordial ooze.

You don't get to make your own rules. If you presume to try, things typically turn out badly.

I mean, take a look around. Are people happier and better adjusted since we chucked the age-old moral code into the garbage can?
