I am most interested in gaining some more insight on the DT, DE, and LBer positions on defense. Who do they see as legitimate contributors this year?

Are Ford (DT) & Wylie (Lber) full go for camp?

Given an adjustment period for teams to learn Knowles defensive system, will they be ready for Oregon?

On offense, how have Allar and the WRs/TEs meshed during summer workouts and expectations for the season from these two groups?

Is Rappleyea (TE) full go for camp?

What details are you hoping to har?

Coaches don't give away much information on media days. Best case is that we'll hear that Ford & Wylie are 100% for fall practice.

The good news is that we're going to have 3 easy games for guys like that to get back int eh swing of things. Also time for Allar to get in synch with his new WRs. Hopefully Grunk gets a lot of PT on those 3 games.

I hope somebody makes the comment that Knowles has corrected a lot of what Allen had going wrong. The voice communication. The 3rd down letdowns (which the Oregon article showed was at a 5 year worst and not just our imagination).

I highly doubt our new depth rotations are remotely figured out because they don't put pads on for another week or so. At least when it comes the DL.

Does anyone really expect Franklin to comment on "the defense won't be ready to be at it's best for Oregon" ??

Coaches don't make negative comments and if a reporter implies that during a Q&A it would be another in a long line of wasted questions. But the media at the B10 media days seem to waste a higher percentage of questions than even the media that regularly attend Franklin's on campus PC's.

Regarding what Franklin says in his opening remarks I expect high level generalizations, talking up his proven top players but not making any specific comments about any players that are competing for the open starting jobs.

In fact, I pretty much expect Franklin to give the same comments he gave last year at the B10 media days, just substituting some player names. Talked a lot about Carter in response to a question, may instead talk about DDS. Asked about Fleming's impact as a transfer and predicted a big impact which most fans didn't believe happened, probably talks about the 3 incoming WR transfers. Talked about Allar and how important returning starting QB and RB's are, and we may see this

I see the best chances for fans learning some actual specific player information or depth chart information at positions where there is real competition such as DE, DT, the 2nd starting Safety and the backup Safety's coming during the Wednesday after practice Q&A media sessions. But even then I don't expect Franklin to name a starter among more experienced players that are competing to start such as Donkah or Rucci at RT unless one has gotten hurt and has basically taken himself out of the competition.

In case anyone wants to compare what's upcoming to last year's PC.....

Here's another Q&A at the 2024 B10 media days with Josh Pate. More of the same.

Agree that he won’t say much, but I do want to hear him talk about the defense. Not just because it seems to be where most of the questions are, but because of how things are working out with a new DC.
