2026 Recruiting Class Thread

What are your thoughts on remaining 2026 targets? Any possible flips to or from the good guys?

Franklin won't stop recruiting his top targets that committed elsewhere, but players like Wafle and O'Brien that got big $money deals may have already signed contracts to play where they committed.

It would seem that the priorities position wise for the remainder of the class may be 1-RB, 1-2 OL, 1 edge, one 1-tech DT, and maybe another WR, LB and another large framed Safety if they can find players available that they like.

This 247 video gives a nice overview of the recruits committed and lists 5-6 mostly near term priority recruits some of whom will announce in the near future.
1. OT Marlon Bright 7/5
2. Edge Tyson Harley 7/5
3. RB Brian Boner - west coast competition for the CA RB
4. DT T-Ron Richardson August commitment date?
5. OT Immanuel Iheanacho - will be hard to overcome the Oregon $$
6. Edge Carter Gooden

Some realistic flip candidates going forward:
1. Edge Wydeek Collier - #10 in PA, Philly player committed to Rutgers
2. CB Dorian Barney - now seemingly headed to UM when he announces 7/5, PSU may work on him later in cycle.

Thank you, I knew you were dialed in. That is a great post. I personally won't lose sleep over the RB if we lose out, we have some great young guys in the pipeline. That's a tough pull.

Would really like to see the DT and one of the edge defenders pan out. Iheanacho would be amazing but I don't know that we offer the kind of dough to put us over the top. Hopefully he is looking at the long-term return of developing under Coach Traut who clearly now has a record of putting guys in the league including 1st rounders.

You're welcome. I'm not really dialed in. I just read and try and put the available info together and then try to remember it..... ;)

Iheanacho verballed to Oregon.

I looked up WRs for the '26 class. Davion Brown from Richmond at 6'1 195 and a 91 rating, 4 star is our crown jewel. He's #145 national rating.

Jahsiear Rogers out of Delaware at 5'10 175, 88 rating 3 star

Lavar Keys out of Maryland at 5'9 1/2 165, 86 rating 3 star.

Not sure about Rogers and Keys. Not great size but maybe they have speed. Hopefully we found under the radar guys who will emerge for us as playmakers.

Watched some film on I believe Rogers at a camp and he abused the DB's trying to cover him. Speed, cutting ability and moves and hands. Also wouldn't surprise me if Franklin ends up with a 4th WR in the class if he can get a good one between now and December.

Rogers is very likely to get a bump. He's dominated camps all spring/summer. Definitely underrated (Delaware kid).

Keys was actually looking around at Indiana a month or so ago. No intel, but that seemed strange.

Brown is the type of recruit we brought Hagans in for. Top 150, Virginia kid.

Good read. The academics PSU offers still count.
Yes, and a young man and family that not only researched the Engineering major that he wants to study, but also the Business school as a backup if I interpreted the article correctly. I'm a PSU engineer and way back then to some freshmen engineering students it turned out to be pre-business......

Any idea what time Edge Tyson Harley announces?

Class now sits at 25 players. Pretty evenly distributed through all positions, numbers and talent wise.

So what's everyone here think about the strongest and weakest positions of the class so far? For me, even though the 5 OL commits include what seem like a couple of projects in Lubintus and Fuchs, Brown is a stud and Bright and Eziuka seem like pretty sold prospects. I also believe the LB class covers the bases and like getting a legit 6'1" 4 star WR, but I was hoping for at least 2 WR's with some size in the class. So here's my initial rating by position for the class. (I'll add more "thougts" later as my adult son want to go for a ride in the vette....)

I have no inside information about the numbers the staff is shooting for by position or the max total they would take for the class. So the comments on the plan forward are obviously just my opinions.... And we know that if a true stud in the eyes of the staff at about any position is interested in joining the class that Franklin will make room for him.

1. OL - a true stud, two likely development future starters, and a couple of true developmental players with size. A good OL class but maybe a 6th OL recruit could be added if the right one is available.
2. LB - 3 talented LB recruits. Likely finished for this class (?)
3. DB - 2 Safety's, 3 CB's, plus Davis who likely plays DB. Seems full but Smith and Poindexter would likely take a stud at either DB position.
4. WR - 3 WR's with Brown and Rogers headlining the group. Class could use another talented WR, preferably a taller WR.
5. DE - 2 Edge recruits Jackson-Ford and Harley. Roster has numbers of young DE's. But staff would likely take a 3rd if they can get a top talent.
6. DT - two DT's, but with only 1 in 2025 Barnes is likely looking for another DT for this class, likely a 1 tech with solid size.
7. RB - Staff trying to add a 2nd RB in Bonner, but Mickens is talented.
8. QB - 1 pretty talented QB, but the staff likely would replace Falzone if they can.
9. TE. - One very talented athlete, likely a future TE. But could also end up at LB or ? Current roster has numbers and talent at TE.

Don't really see how to rate special teams.....

5. DL
6. RB
7. QB
8. TE.

Currently ranked 14th, 16th in average rating. 5th in the BiG.
I thought we'd move up with a couple of 4*s.
