Honest conversation

I still didn’t think the Oline was great even when we got going in the 4th q. Better but never great.

The touchdown to Ross was a max protect situation that only had 2 receivers in the play I believe. Now why didn’t AK do that earlier and more frequently (or move the pocket with rollouts)? That’s a ‘fair question’.

The 2nd TD was a beautiful counter play and that raises another very fair question of AK - when playing teams with a very aggressive D, why not run more counters, draws, or screens and slants to counter their aggressiveness? I’m sure the coaching staff is discussing this as we speak.

Ross TD had 3 routes. Rapp actually drew in 2 defenders on his Stop route, which kept Ross from being doubled. The bigger issue is why aren't we running more from that formation to enhance its PA capabilities?

We also did run a Slant, and some screens. They just didn't work (because we don't seem to prioritize them for the offense). Drew pinged Hudson on the helmet with the slant.

Regarding the fumble that was over turned, I was under the understanding that a body part has to hit the "ground", not touch a blade of grass. The RB's knee did not hit the ground. A more conservative ruling due to the fact that there really wasn't conclusive evidence should have been that the call on the field stands, or whatever they call it this year.

Regarding the OT pick, it was first down and knowing that a turnover means a loss that pass shouldn't have been thrown in my opinion. When I watched the play live there was another PSU WR that broke into the end zone on that sideline by himself and it looked like if Allar had pump faked it to the TE he could have lobbed it into the end zone for the TD. But it was first down and there was no need to force the ball into a tight windown. Especially when Allar was inaccurate on about every pass except the long one to Ross.
As to the fumble that was overturned, you are correct, a body part must hit the ground, not a blade od grass. I gairantee that will never be called that way again. Also, there is no way there was indisputable evidence to.over turn the call on the field.

I know the Offense was a hot mess for most of the game, but if that fumble was called correctly, the PSU D would probably have only given up 10 pts, to a team that was averaging 50/game. I am SO sick of crazy calls only going against PSU. I'm not talking about a missed holding call or pass interference. Against OSU, the replay cameras stopped working for 15 seconds, a toe heel call that has never been called that way again, and now a blade of grass(maybe.) I don't want to hear how they had their opportunities and missed them. All games should be called fairly. Can anyone point out a crazy ruling that went in Penn States favor that was never called that way again?

It may be due to stress from my watching the game, but it always seems to me that when the ball is downed very close to the first down or the goal line (e.g. a reviewed TD call), it is placed where the ball carrier's knee touched the ground and not at the vertical plane of where the ball was when the knee touched the ground. Instead of the ball being placed three inches from the goal line or the first down marker, the ball is placed two feet to a yard back.
