But I think Franklin has lost credibility with us fans, if not the players. In retrospect maybe his Ohio State win in 2016 was kind of a bad thing, as it led us to expect he can do it again. I think James is a decent guy all-in-all, but he doesn't seem to be able to grow. He only wins when he has more talent, not because he knows how to game plan or execute better on game day. We will likely never out-recruit some schools. I think he needs to go to a school where he can recruit at a level that would allow him to possibly win it all. We need someone who can maximize the talent he gets and not blink on game day when the other team is as good or better on paper. What are some jobs that may be lateral or slightly better from a recruiting standpoint that may be open and would consider him?

The buyout is too high IMHO. It's a golden handcuff for Kraft and Franklin.
The university is in the middle of raising $700M for the stadium. $55M is a lot to come up with in addition to that unless someone(s) with a big check book gets THAT fed up.
IMO, this is not Kraft's decision to make. JF is here unless a donor decides otherwise, and then Kraft would be happy to oblige.
Adding to what you say above. JF is a good guy. He's everything hung you want in a CFB coach except the actual FB coaching.
I don't think the current openings would be good fits. A step back for him.

We should all cheer for Florida's opponents the rest of the way. Napier getting fired might just be our get out of jail free card.

There are four or five names that keep coming up for the Florida job, and Franklin isn’t ever mentioned. There were several articles on Sunday and Monday by college football writers that said it’s time for him to look at other options. Unfortunately, I think his record of losing big games and poor clock management will preclude him from the top jobs. Looking at possible future openings, I’m wondering if he would ever be a candidate for SMU, university of Colorado, or UNC?
