I've had those "mitigation" clauses but they are pretty useless. All you have to do is apply and then document that you weren't hired. A good loud **** during the interview will take care of that. ("Is that Pamb with a B" from step brothers). But they'll probably negotiate an up front buyout so that all parties can move on. Maybe something in the 20s.He was already in wonderful financial shape. The buyout stuff is way overblown IMO. Texas A&M's was different as it was $76 million and had no set-off provision. Franklin's salary for the rest of this year was already budgeted. He's a relatively young guy who appears to be in decent health. He's not likely to be sitting around for 6 years, and someone said Audrey Snyder reported that his contract does require him to mitigate damages. So we're probably talking $15 to $30 million at most. Not nothing, but the brand is worth a lot more.
Then there are the contracts of the OC and DC should the new HC go in another direction.
