Is PSU BB a Pat Kraft Issue?

Back to Kraft again. If PSU's basketball team can't attract the players, then it's a money thing. Yea, it's State College and all, but how much does a 4* DI point guard cost, as well as 4*s at the #2 and #4 postions? Then backfill with Lafayette and Sienna guys who can hit threes.

I coach high school basketball and to get the really good high school players, the top 50 guys, they cost more than a good D1 quarterback. If mingos brother comes, this team will be real good next year. But it’s highly unlikely, he’ll cost 2.5 million at minimum. But if he comes they will get other portal players who want to play with them

Can't we get 27 year olds from Europe?

In looking at the personalities and determination of both Coach Cael and CMC, I can see that successful coaches have an understanding that confidence and aggressiveness in getting big donors and talented players ASAP is vital. It's a big league attitude. Both MBB and WBB coaches either don't have this inate ability and/or are instructed to stay within guard rails. IMHO.

Can't we go all in to get Mingo 2? Ask the big money guys, if he is the difference to get us going and at least get to the Dance then it is a good ROI.

I'd love to see it but not sure if that is what coach is willing to do. You only lose Reed and then probably 1 or 2 portal so you should be able to focus on just Mingo.

It literally costs a bloody fortune. Why we waited last year until revenue sharing existed. We didn't have the money for the portal, so we went to Europe. PSU has 2 problems. No basketball culture, and no major donor like Wrestling and Hockey. Also, a horrible reputation for coaches coming here.

Rhoades is not getting what he was promised from Kraft. WBB will be gone after this season for sure. Rhoades is too expensive to buy out.
