McAndrew board

I have an account on the McAndrew board, but mainly out of habit would type bwi.rivals.com so mainly stayed on the Rivals board. I'm curious what were the issues people had/have with the McAndrew Board. Was it aggressive moderation, racy pictures, no politics, etc.?

Wasn’t even that they were half naked but a lot were college age and to me that crosses the line.
That too. But why is it necessary at all? You want to look at half naked women, go do it. Why post pictures forcing others like you (with the younger girls) to be uncomfortable? It's misogynistic and off-putting to many including women who might want to contribute to PSU discussion boards.

Others may see things differently but these are my own general impressions:

There are some good people posting on the McAndrew Board but the culture is different with a bit of a Cool-Kids-Club vibe. I also think the in-season commentary on Penn State football was more interesting and diverse on the Rivals Board.

I respect and understand the rule of no politics allowed on McAndrew but the moderation could be at times uneven, arbitrary, and biased...extending to the definition of "politics" and some unquestionably non-political topics.

And speaking of politics, the Rivals site offered a non-sports board for that whereas ON3 did not. Of course, the Rivals politics board was eventually converted to premium in a pretty shaky move that happened with almost no notice and very little explanation.

Most PSU fans and alums originally come from around PA and the Middle Atlantic. Many now reside around the country and even around the globe. With that said and being born and raised in SE PA, the board was too Philly centric. IMHO. I love Philadelphia and surroundings, but I feel the board management didn't get out all that much.

I think politics is just fine and there should be a forum for it as an outlet. I feel like politics shows up on the sports boards when there isn't an outlet or if that outlet was made premium. And as much as moderators may want to be unbiased (some more than others), they are human. Their biases will impact how that is moderated. So yes, make a place for it and let's try to discuss it respectfully.

I post on the other site as there are some good people there who offer good insights and then there’s some random threads. They get good information about random stuff. But as far as one moderating that side, he’s kind of like these people protesting no Kings day when they’re actually the party that Had their nominee appointed rather than voted on. He only let one side of the story show through the threads and it was always whatever he agreed with. Didn’t matter if it was political Penn State related, Philly related or anything else it has to fit with his beliefs or ideas, he’s never one to go back and apologize for making mistake either. Plus, I’ve had personal experience with him many years ago at blue white game with a recruit. He basically acted like a pouting five-year-old at calling me names and such.

That sucks that he would treat someone traveling with a recruit poorly. That just hurts the program from which his employment is ultimately derived. And it says much more about him than whatever names he was calling someone who travels with recruits.

Well, how young is young in your opinion? Young is 18 or younger in my opinion.

Who was the poster that would rail relentlessly against suggestive sig pics? Caesar? This goes back pretty far.
Young to me is college girls. Most of us are much older than that and have daughters older.

I have daughters as well. That said, there is a whole thing going on with social media that makes me sick. I enjoy Reddit to talk about gardening, fishing, issues surrounding our city....

You go off the beaten path a little, and you will find thousands if not tens of thousands or more young ladies advertising their Only Fans page. Some are 18. Others are 50. Strangest thing I've ever seen. These people want to get paid by showing their twats to strangers. Ok, not want to, they do get paid.

It's not a fad. It's a career today. I once watched this marginal looking young lady tell us how she pulls in a million dollars a year (gross), by showing herself naked. It's so f'd up. She was so proud of the car "we" bought her....................

And here we wonder why we have a worker shortage.

Ya I’m not a fan of social media and think it’s biggest thing wrong with this country. I can easily ignore the posts but don’t feel it should be part of sports site. Id rather make fun of each other.

You missed the point. If young ladies are willing to pose for sexy pictures, then they want to. Sure you can say no one should use their pictures in their sig pics, but no one made them do it.

I agree that social media is the biggest think wrong with this country. ****, 90% of our kids can't read cursive.

I got the point. They can do what they want but I really don’t like looking at young girls at my age. Just my opinion and Ian asked what we didn’t like with Toms site.
