The political, corporate, and educational establishments have all sold their souls to the Chinese decades ago. Most of them do not consider themselves as American. They see themselves as elite and all run in the same circles.

Moving production offshore isn't a matter of selling your soul. It's a matter of survival. How many people are willing to pay 2x-3x the price for things like clothing, kids toys, and cell phones that are made in the USA? Companies could try but they'd quickly go out of business.

The host of the Espy's ripped Michigan and the fact that there has yet to be any accountability for a plethora of violations.
Personally, I suspect some of the delay is because the violations include both criminal and civil violations. If you've ever been involved with a civil action, the worst thing you can do is get a criminal case involved or you've just added several years to the process.
