Figured it might be good to have a separate thread just for the new commits and there will be many.
Probably as good as those who transferred out. Rap is our best all around TE. Dinkins was a good blocker but is out of eligibility.Big target but can he block?
He’s a bigger version of Reynolds. A little better blocker but a tad slower. A slight upgrade overallBig target but can he block?
Landon Tengwall puts a lot of work into his productions. I believe he will be THE media go-to guy for PSU sports in a short time. He's personable, analytical, hard-working, and his content includes multimedia to support his discussions. Competing PSU podcasters IMO are typically just faces of people (some who appear to have just just gotten out of bed) who sit behind big mics while offering nothing that we didn't already know. But very nice people, I'm sure.Safety Marcus Neal from Ames

Here's our current depth chart at QB:Surprised the QB hasn’t signed yet.
So, I guess we can dump all this into a spreadsheet, assign all players a grade (or star) based on actual performance. Then sort by position room (WR, LB, OT, etc.), then see where things stand pre-portal and post-portal.What's the current tally? We lost 34 and picked up 3?
So like the majority of teams? The portal just opened. Lots of players visiting state college as we type. This is how the process works when 1/3 of D1 players are in the portal now. What's the current tally? We lost 34 and picked up 3?
Yes but most of the kids in the portal are looking to move up. Relatively few are star performers at top 10 schools. So like the majority of teams? The portal just opened. Lots of players visiting state college as we type. This is how the process works when 1/3 of D1 players are in the portal now.
Reynolds is a very big loss, IMO. He’s a Geisicki type athlete with the potential to become a complete “ Tyler Warren” type TE. —-He’ll likely follow Howle and Franklin to VT.He’s a bigger version of Reynolds. A little better blocker but a tad slower. A slight upgrade overall
The ISU TE could be an upgrade if he can block better than Reynolds, but with Rapp looking like an NFL TE this time next year and Brahmer only having 1 year of eligibility going with them in 2026 will make TE a very high priority for the 2027 portal. Hope that Campbell can bring in a great 2027 high school class to back fill some of the positions weak on young talent.Reynolds is a very big loss, IMO. The kid from ISU looks good, and has potential. Hopefully develops a little more.
Many will be star performers though. The majority of all players in the semifinals are transfers. The game has absolutely changed very rapidly. We have to moneyball it now if we want to maximize our NIL.Yes but most of the kids in the portal are looking to move up. Relatively few are star performers at top 10 schools.
Yep, he can definitely block better than Reynolds, But I’ll definitely miss the athleticismThe ISU TE could be an upgrade if he can block better than Reynolds, but with Rapp looking like an NFL TE this time next year and Brahmer only having 1 year of eligibility going with them in 2026 will make TE a very high priority for the 2027 portal.
