Before the unauthorized video of Kraft I had concerns, mostly from Terry going into self-promotion mode in the Nebraska post-game PC. But after that Kraft video was released by a player and the over the top hire Terry signs, there is no way. He had to shut the stuff down and make the focus 100% Penn St. He didn't or was unable to prevent players and others from doing it. So he cannot be retained.

I'm very glad Terry swallowed his ego and agreed to stick around. He could be a huge force for cohesion and stability at this point. Also, I don't think Terry had any involvement in leaking that tape.

That said, the fact somebody in the locker room did leak it is a pretty troubling sign. I haven't listened to it but have heard it doesn't make Kraft look all as bad as was apparently intended by the leaker.

Still, based on the bits of the transcript that I've read, it does seem like Kraft was in rant mode about the various injustices of life, and this is something you don't do with people who are under your command. If you want to vent, do it up-chain...not down. That's a leadership rule applying to sports, business, the military, the government...everywhere.

Haha! Bring back Beau!! Yeah, like that's happening.

Did Breneman happen to notice that Grunk appears to be a rising potential star who looked impressive as hell at times after being pressed into service following Drew's injury.

The time to keep Beau and give him the keys to the 2025 car was a year ago. Of course that wasn't in the cards after Drew decided to stick around, but honestly, if Beau had been the starter this season, would things have worked out worse? I don't think so.
Pribula? That ship has sailed. We now have Beaubots.
Gronk and maybe the ISU guy can fight it out.

Agreed. I'm glad that Terry swallowed the ego to accept and that PSU has the belief in him to have made him a priority. I've said all along that I love Terry and what he did for this team. My concerns were when Terry started to believe in the hire Terry effort and when the player that illegally recorded the AD and leaked it made it appear that there was a coordinated effort to sabotage the hiring process. There are still likely some concerns in the locker room. I'm sure that Campbell and Smith will address that and hopefully put an end to it.

You are correct IMO about Kraft poorly reflecting on his leadership with the rant. You have to be better than that as a leader of men.

Well, regardless, we need more QBs on the roster at this point to even run practices effectively. If Gronk and ISU guy battle, then we have 2 legit guys. But we also need depth and a pipeline. I'm guessing that they find a way to address that as well with $30m in NIL. Fortunately, 1 of the 2 4-star players in the 2026 class is a QB.

I think this an absolute smash of a hire. Watching Matt Campbell sell out heart and soul for neighboring Iowa State and outstanding relative success at that school has been interesting. Seeing what he might do with serious resources, big-time attention and even wilder fan support means PSU must watch TV for quite some time... I was angry about Franklin as I've always liked him, but I've always loved Campbell, so here we are.
