Next coaching candidates

With a guy like Chesney, he'll need GM help with getting a few decent high schoolers his first year and will depend 60% on portal newcomers, mostly from places other than JMU. If a seasoned DI coach who has a system to get high schoolers interested, he should be able to hold together 50% of the recruits and bring in maybe ten portal players.
If a famous DI coach, maybe a top 15 recruiting class and a bunch of talented portal guys.
Upsetting that we would get rid of one seasoned D1 coach for another. I'll be depressed if not a big splash. Just getting annoying (I have little patience ;o)

IMHO, Franklin's weaknesses or faults were bigger than what could be determined by his recruiting some NFL caliber players and his high winning percentage. It is his "big game" failures, his always having a few egregious positional holes whether at DL, WR, LB, and/or OL, and, most recently, the incompatibility between QB and schemes. His not seeing those glaring weaknesses and/or not fixing them year after year was his downfall. It's similar to what's seen in thr business world with the coiffed Ivy MBA as CEO versus the seasoned engineer running the company.

I would think some of that would depend on the position coaches and how many are kept. I think these coaching changes are brought about by the thinking the new hire will bring in part of his old team or his recruits, as well as position coaches. Those coaches are the ones that recognize the talent, then the head coach tries to seal the deal. Or maybe I have the process wrong. I'd be more worried about those coaches jumping ship.

I'm hearing Al Golden and Pat Fitzpatrick names come up recently.

If Al Golden was given an interview, then Kraft is now officially desperate. No home run, but a strikeout with a runner gunned down at second.

Anyone else starting to get worried about the recruiting class which no longer exists and the time line dragging on to the point of being able to do very little about it?
I would like to see the new coach announced and the program more forward, but it is more important to get it right instead of getting it done quickly.
