Next coaching candidates

Some people noted that there appeared to be a lack of energy from Terry which may have been due to being told he was no longer in the running for HC before the game.
Hey Sheriff Coffee. I'm getting a bit concerned that I have not heard back from Pat Kraft about my application yet. What about you? Any word yet?

Sitake could be interesting. Seems like a merit-based, no nonsense guy. BYU's always had tough players and good QB play. Not sure of the LDS presence in State College, but Cael seems to be doing fine. And here's a tip: Look to invest in a Polynesian bar and grill restaurant in State College.

Yeah, I think this is going to be a short term possible long term disaster if Terry is not named. A big name coach that is already coaching a major program could bring in players from his team, but someone like chesney can’t do that. I know Cignetti had good enough players that could start at Indiana last year, but I doubt there is that many left over from when Cignetti coached there. Chesney is just riding on Cignetti’s coattails I believe.
Landon Tengwell is saying we may have to bring in as many as 50 players from the portal, and we are behind the 8 ball on that.

Thinking more on it ,even if they gave it to Terry he would keep most of current roster but he would be way behind in recruiting and looking for portal players.
It’s going to be bad in the short term no matter who they get IMO.

If not Terry it’s gotta be Manny Diaz. He could bring in players and would have a good feel for transfer portal player’s.

Hmmmm.... Anyone else becoming a little concerned as to why we haven't heard who the next head coach will be yet??? 🥴😬
I’m very concerned, someone told me no one is interested in the job? No, I think there is a strong focus on Sitake and DeBoer. Both teams are still playing, and would think if they don’t get either of those two, they will get the James Madison coach. It could also be Diaz as well.

I liked what Diaz did with psu’s defense. He seems like he’d be aggressive, especially when he gets top talent on the roster.

But it is still hard to get by the fact that he couldn’t do it at Miami, in the hot bed of high school talent.

I'm thinking Chesney may just be waiting until after thee championship game to finalize with UCLA. I'd love yo have him at this point tho.

I feel like Pat Kraft is in a pickle. The problem is, by firing a coach who made it to the semi-finals the year before, the only measure of success if to be in the championship game. The expectations, the definition of success, are just too high. Even at LSU, success is competing for and winning an SEC championship. Being in the Natty playoff is just gravy.

So there is nobody out there that really fits in terms of career aspirations and long term employment. Diaz is the only one that has experience and may want a better program to work with. Chesney has very little experience at this level. Hartline sounds good but he is a tOSU guy through and through. The BYU guy has no experience in this footprint. I think it is clear they aren’t hiring Terry.

I just don’t know where Kraft goes at this point.

Any football guy will do. Sitake, Hartline, etc. Franklin was a poser who talked up his roster and coaches but didn't deliver. His press conferences were a sham. I think authenticity from both AD and head coach is critical at this juncture.

Love him or hate him, CJF was in the quarterfinals last year. That is a fact. I doubt whomever we hire will have that accomplishment on his resume.
