Coaches have to get on board. It is the way of the future and whoever refuses to get on board will be left behind. I hate to even think like that as I miss the old college football, but it is what it is.Cignetti

We go to 3-6, which is highly likely, you will see several NFL aspirants take ghe last two games off. They saw Drew go down and he has lost millions in the process. We're currently 3-4
@ OSU likely makes us 3-5
Indy likely makes us 3-6
@ MSU makes us 4-6
Neb could make us 4-7
@ Rut might get us to 5-7
No bowl game which is probably a good thing.

You will also see several kids declare for the portal and not play. Losing 10-12 players from a weak team with key injuries would be a disaster.
4-8 is a definite possibility. And you can’t even rule out 3-9.
Our recruiting has been weak for the last few years. 15th in 2024, 16th in 2025, and 28th at this point for 2026. That's not going to get us where we want to go but it should be good enough to beat teams like UCLA, Northwestern, and Iowa. The hidden thing about those rankings is how we recruited based on need. LB has been a massive fail. Not sure I can rule in any wins.. like you say. 3-9 is as likely as anything now.
Two reasons: NIL and the portal. Our recruiting has been weak for the last few years. 15th in 2024, 16th in 2025, and 28th at this point for 2026. One thing I don't understand is DT. Back in the day I recall PSU moving kids between OL and DL to fill needs. I understand there's a learning curve but a big body is a big body. How can we be so weak at DT but not move somebody from the OL which has much more depth?
I don't understand that. If a junior OL isn't getting PT in college what makes him think he's going to get drafted? The move might give him a chance for PT which could lead to getting drafted. Two reasons: NIL and the portal.
Kids commit to play a position that they believe will get them to the NFL. Move them across the line and they are gone if they don’t get immediate success. Which very do because of the aforementioned learning curve.

One thing for sure. The next coach won't inherit a strong core group of players. It's going to be a major rebuilding process and that process gets much more difficult the longer we wait to name the new guy.
So far…..so bad.5-7 at best. Almost impossible to win the next three difficult games without a coach and without Allar and Rojas.
So after losing six in a row seniors start sitting out to eliminate chance of injury before the NFL combines and draft.
Underclassmen sit out and declare for the portal.
Coaches will be playing underclassmen to get them experience and keep them from transferring.
A quick hire of Meyer or Grueden would help stop the bleeding but the wound is severe.
