I am like a nut on my yard and maintain three others besides mine. I've noticed that there isn't anything like rain water. You can use a lawn sprinkler until you are blue in the face but a good, steady rain invigorates a lawn like nothing else.

As rain falls, the water will absorb nitrogen from the atmosphere and give a small dose of nutrient to the grass.

Back in the 90's during a severe drought, a proposal was made to irrigate the field with treated wastewater (pipeline goes right by the stadium) but Paterno and Sebastiani (sp) did not like the idea, so it was scrapped.

It's strange looking with those gaps between sections. It probably won't hold the crowd noise very well.
