That will put a lot of pressure on EU, Korea and China
The USA selling rice to Japan seems strange.
We sell a lot of rice to Japan. 1/2 of Japan's rice imports come from California. The USA selling rice to Japan seems strange.

Arkansas is a huge rice grower. The science to level acreage for rice growing is interesting to watch. Jonesboro has a huge rice mill. The USA selling rice to Japan seems strange.
On a similar note, if FL raised our sales tax 2%, we could drop all residential property taxes. The deficits predicted by the congressional accounting office are billshit. They ignore tariff income and revenues that will be gained from growth when the feds drop interst rates. That will put a lot of pressure on EU, Korea and China

Powell has terminal TDS. He wants to destroy Trump more than to do the right thing. He will go down with his own sinking career.
GAO and other bodies have specific ways in which they have to score bills. It's like Enron Accounting. On a similar note, if FL raised our sales tax 2%, we could drop all residential property taxes. Illegal immigrants come to the USA to pick rice by hand so it can be shipped to Asia. Like Yakov Smirnoff said: "What a Country!"We sell a lot of rice to Japan. 1/2 of Japan's rice imports come from California.
I watch some of the money/market shows on occasion. Yesterday they were saying that there are several more about to get rolled out including Europe.Trade deals with Japan, Philippines and Indonesia. All in one day. Not too shabby.
Japan imported nearly 1000 tons of rice last year. They just don't have the infrastructure to satisfy their demand. The USA selling rice to Japan seems strange.
We're not hearing much about Canada. I'd like to get that resolved.I watch some of the money/market shows on occasion. Yesterday they were saying that there are several more about to get rolled out including Europe.
Same. Haven't heard much. They may be digging in their heals which will not end well for them. 77% of their exports are to the US. https://tradingeconomics.com/canada/exports-by-countryWe're not hearing much about Canada. I'd like to get that resolved.
According to the W.H. Japan is paying the 15% tariff, is this true? That will put a lot of pressure on EU, Korea and China
Good questions. My thought on the $550B is that I think Japan is going to have their companies invest in more research and manufacturing in the USA. My guess is that the Trump admin balanced "investment" with tarriffs in their negoation. If you want a lower tarriff, make a bigger investment. If you don't want the big investment, pay more in tarriffs.According to the W.H. Japan is paying the 15% tariff, is this true?
this levy will not be an added tax for us on Japanese imports.
Is this tax in addition to the baseline tariff of 10%?

I don't follow the intricacies
of global economics, but what does the below decree mean?
Japan will give us 90% from their $550 US investment!

Yes and you can even see them using the whole of government approach to these negotiations with the Philippines securing some military coordination in their deal which is likely us conducting joint military exercises that give them some additional deterrence in the region.Good questions.
