Week 11: #2 Indiana at Penn State (Noon, FOX) Game Thread

Well, this is what I wrote but forgot to post before the game....Indiana trailed Iowa in the 4th quarter. We can play with them talent wise. We need #19 in for most of the game to have a chance on defense, otherwise we get picked apart. Also need to feed Allen at least 20 times. The only time Singleton should see the ball is if it's a pass. Howard and Ross need to be the main receivers. Kotelnicki needs to coach like his career depends on it. He's not going to be retained, but he's likely unhireable at this level in the upcoming cycle if he doesn't flip the script.

So we have no #19 today - hope that doesn't mean he's portalling - but D hasn't looked bad, considering. Pena with a big play, and Singleton actually running well on that drive. Sometimes it's nice being wrong.

Anybody who was thinking that Singleton’s lack of vision was made up, if you just watched that kickoff return, you can see that he had a huge opening to the right and ran right into the tackler

Anyone who thinks that at this point is an idiot.

It was apparent last season.

Additional to that is that Singleton gets arm tackled and has very little balance.

But... he squats a lot.

WTF is wrong with Kotelnicki and also with Terry Smith? Why this brutally passive playcalling? Kotelnicki needs to be relieved of his duties after the game, if not before. It's like he came in with a bunch of plays he designed on a napkin, but they have nothing to do with the game situation. It takes the wind out of the sails.

Why are there no 15-yard pass plays where Gronk just drops back and throws the football? Every medium to long pass play takes five seconds for Gronk to either throw an incompletion or to eat it. Kotelnicki should be out of football.

This is hard to take because of how far the program has fallen after the post 2011 resuscitation. Too much power was given to Franklin and there was too much rationalizing or looking away regarding toughness, playcalling, recruiting, "explosive play", etc. This time Kraft, a supposed old-school player in his own right, needs to pull in a Cignetti-type coach and a smart, resourceful GM who's on board. Tough, smart football.

Because our receivers suck and no one is open. Announcers said so. Said so last week. Everyone says so.

Coach K wants to be fired.
The longer he stays on the worse his resume will be.
