The stars have to align for PSU to go the the half with a lead and Franklin pulls his normal "we're so good we can call timeouts and get more points' and it gives NW a chance to score again. Especially combined with stupid penalties.

I watch high school football on Friday's and most of the H.S. coaches have a better feel for football strategy, time management, ... that James Franklin.

For years Franklin has proven he is bad at game management. However, why would he not try to get another possession? He cannot coach thinking that the D will get 2 15 year penalties?

I am not a Franklin fan, and l could complain all day about him.

Without a doubt, on offense and defense, this is the most over hyped Lion team since my freshman year in 1963.

The team is a mess. Allen as single back run up middle, then to the short side. The defense was not fooled. Drew throws another pass at the feet of the receiver.
Then NU, from its own two, runs for four yards, then for eight yards.

Allar doesn't have the savvy and determination to do heroic things. He's a tall kid who can throw a football at times and who follows directions on a wrist band.

Knowles' defense is so complex that even he doesn't understand it.

This OL gets worse as the game goes along. Even though they get subbed for they seem to wear down.

This whole thing is dysfunctional. The McSorley and Clifford teams were nothing like this, both in talent and execution. Barkley and Warren may have been the reasons for success during the Franklin years.
