I dont see Beau ending up at PSU. I see Campbell either going after his ISU QB or going after an athletic QB with 2 years of eligibility remaining like the one from UCLA that beat PSU this season.
I think Campbell stays with Grunk. He played well and has three more years left. Campbell has a honeymoon year and it doesn’t make sense to bring in a one-year kid for a honeymoon.I dont see Beau ending up at PSU. VT, that's another story.
We’ll see but I see no reason Campbell would want to utilize a “honeymoon”. I believe he’ll be doing everything he can to put together the roster it takes to win from his first game. I love Grunk but his mediocre mobility and limited experience leads me to believe that an experienced transfer QB with 1 or 2 years of eligibility would give the team the best chance to win. I also believe PSU would have a good chance to retain Grunk as a backup and future starter as although he did a good job for PSU he doesn’t seem like the type of QB that top 20 teams would pay big NIL for. And with the addition NIL Campbell now has he can afford to pay Grunk nice $ to stay as we all know how valuable a competent backup QB is.I think Campbell stays with Grunk. Agreed. The pressure is now on Campbell to dazzle in 2026. If there is any position where it is not an issue hiring an expensive mercenary, it is at QB. Again, I like Leavitt, but there are a few others who won't cower and will perform well under pressure. We’ll see but I see no reason Campbell would want to utilize a “honeymoon”. I think you are both right. We may bring someone in to seriously compete, but Grunk is probably the frontrunner. We need quality depth as well. And we all saw OSU make the offer on live TV.
Can we go after Ohio St for tampering? We have video evidence of it. They tampered with our roster DURING the season and it likely caused the player to sit out the remaining season.
Was that not tampering after the OSU game by the OSU staffer who was speaking with Coleman?
I wonder if Kraft has addressed this with the B1G Commissioner? Can we go after Ohio St for tampering? We have video evidence of it. They tampered with our roster DURING the season and it likely caused the player to sit out the remaining season.
If Grunk was a RS Jr next season I could see him leaving, but he's still young enough to wait another year to develop into a top starting QB. It's not like he is 5 star Caleb Williams after starting at Oaklahoma and would have teams lining up to pay him crazy NIL. He started a few games and basially beat three bad teams behind a dominant running game. Grunk would seem to make an excellent backup QB on a top 20 team that has a more experienced, more dynamic starting QB. But I also still believe that Grunk could be a decent starter for PSU in 2026 as he continues to get experience.I think you are both right. Is it time to have staff recording evidence of Ohio St tampering during the season and go public with it? The entire sport could unravel with this in season tampering. And it is influencing betting lines which the against the rules tampering may wade in major legal issues. How is tampering with rosters of conference foes' during the season any less cheating than what Michigan did?Sucks that we’re going to lose Chaz Coleman. I think most of us expected it, but it still hurts to see. Especially since we all know where he’s going. At least we won’t have to see him in a game.
This stuff is exactly why the sport needs real structure. Until there’s actual regulation and a commissioner with teeth, everyone’s going to keep pushing the line and pointing fingers. Right now it’s a free for all and that’s the real problem, not just one school or one situation. Is it time to have staff recording evidence of Ohio St tampering during the season and go public with it? I feel good about Grunk. IIRC he completed 70% of his passes and he seemed to improve in each game. IMO he would be a big loss.If Grunk was a RS Jr next season I could see him leaving, but he's still young enough to wait another year to develop into a top starting QB. If Campbell does bring in another QB I don't see Grunk being the frontrunner. Campbell's starting QB at ISU started for him for 3 years and will be a redshirt Senior in 2026 so it seems to me if he comes to PSU he's coming to start, regardless if Grunk stays or leaves. That's likely the case for any of the top tier QB's that will be in the transfer portal unless they have as limited experience as Grunk. JMO
Something tells me his limited PT was because he was in the doghouse as much as being injured. Still he showed a lot of promise and is a big loss.Chaz was 95% gone way before OSU game, he was just making sure the checks would clear
