2025/26 Transfer Portal & Roster Changes Thread

Supposedly one of the friction points with Franklin was that he literally didn't want to go get a true #1 WR. The guy that I heard that we had the packages am to get but Franklin wouldn't do it was Concepcion from NC State that went to A&M and led them with 61 rec, 919 yds, 9 TDs receiving and also added 10 carries for 75 yds and a TD and was the SEC leading punt returner with 456 yds and 2 Tds
I am not questioning you, but it is hard to understand why Franklin did not want a true #1 WR.

Well I've seen it reported that Dom got a cool $500k, and little Clifford got $400k. How does either of those make any sense? And it was Franklin doling out the $.
Dom was a multi year starter at a position with not much depth and multi year team captain. Clifford was really never a serious starter and never performed as a B10 starter, and him being the backup QB was a joke.

But I don't see how there won't be some hard feelings in top team locker rooms as there will always be players that under perform their NIL and others that over perform their NIL. Just like in the NFL. And in the business world with salaries.

And just like in the NFL and in the business world some "employees" will value what they have where they are other than NIL while others won't and will move on. And some will find that the grass isn't always greener.... just like in the NFL and in the business world.

It will take special coaches to manage a team in today's P4 football. Hope we have one!!

The problem with college kids getting paid like pros is that they don't conduct themselves like pros. Heck, even some pros don't conduct themselves like pros. But 18 to 23 year old kids definitely don't. They are immature and now instantly have good money. That's often a bad combo without good guidance.

As we've discussed, there's a lot to like about the younger players that played vs Clemson on Saturday. A good many positions have pretty much enough starting talent, such as on the Oline. It never hurts to add a top player at any position but I'm also hoping that Campbell can bring in some 2024 class players, mainly redshirt freshmen, at positions where a year or two's development is the normal path to playing time such as on the oline. Looks like he has a 4 star olinemen he recruited to ISU that's in the portal and would improve the PSU roster.

Some redshirt freshmen incoming transfers would help cover the smaller 2026 class, and then if Campbell can hit a few home runs in the 2027 class with the top talent particularly in PA those types of players are many times ready to contribute immediately.
