2025/26 Transfer Portal & Roster Changes Thread

This is part of the sense-making and move towards an equilibrium in the open portal world. Rather than players saying "here I am!" in an open ended, unknown environment, the "buyer" (potential coach) will contact a specific "seller" (aka player) through an agent or via the player himself. Or the player will need to reach out to a specific team or coach, like applying for a job. Many players will not get a call for their services. The players that are basically cut will need to look to lower tier conferences. Things will shake out and equilibrium will be reached in another few years as supply, demand, and pricing are better determined.
Anyway, glad to have Wallace back in the fold.

Getting time for some that are in the portal to see if they would be taken back at their previous school. Wallace obviously knows that with Peoples, Martin and Hanson he may only end up as a depth player.

Wonder how many former PSU players might be welcomed back. Or at what positions.

Maybe a couple more at positions where depth is needed such as OL (O'Hara is a local player that might not find bigger money elsewhere), and at DE where I believe there are a couple former young PSU DE's still uncommitted in the portal that could provide depth in 2026.

For as bad as it was with only initially getting two kids to sign, this recruiting class isn’t bad. The two PA kids that originally committed are the only four stars but there’s quite a few solid 88 ranked recruits in this group in this kid at safety has got great size already. It wouldn’t surprise me if the staff is looking to get a couple more high school kids rather than going all portal for the rest of the roster.

I felt like he had a shot at reps this year. I guess he wanted more than that.
Talented RB's are pretty ready to play as true freshmen. It will be very hard to stockpile them in the NIL portal era. Just like Peoples leaving Uh-high-ya. I'm just happy we still have Martin! I'd rather have had Hayes than Wallace, but the staff took Wallace back and they should have expected that Hayes wasn't going to stay with the top 3 plus Wallace when he could be in a competition for the 4th spot.

I'd rather have Hayes than the ISU transfer Hanson, but that's not what Campbell thinks.....

Yep. But for 2026, Hanson has the reps and can catch the ball. I'm not sure who will be the workhorse RBs. Peoples and Martin? Hanson and Peoples? At least RBs will need to compete for playing time (I hope).
