The Rutgers offense is marching up and down the field on Iowa in the first half. Could Rutgers be a legit B10 team this season?

But going along in the 2nd quarter the Rutgers defense looks pretty sorry....

Yea. RU doesn't look dominant at DL or at LB. I think they'll wear down in the 4th. But then, Iowa is not awe-inspiring either.

3rd Qtr, just saw Rutgers WR (Strong) make a contested catch w/Iowa DB holding his arm down. PSU WRs will have to make those catches in the B1G for PSU offense to succeed.

Based on the eye test, RU doesn't have the size and strength for Big10 play. A few fast and skilled guys, but the team fades. Their DBs grab, hold, and lose receivers. I'm surprised Schiano doesn't understand what's required at this point. And lot of corporate HQs around I-287. Where's J&J money?

Rutgers did fade in the 4th quarter. It was mentioned that RU DB's were grabbing and holding but that's exactly what I saw Iowa doing. Iowa's defense looked a little slow but they make up for it with the grabbing and holding. They're very well coached. Take great angles and don't miss many tackles.

There was plenty of grabbing and holding to go around in pass coverage for both teams. From what I saw Rutgers had the better WR's so that Iowa had to hold harder and more consistent to have a chance at covering them. Sure wish the refs across college football would call the holding more consistent.

It's like all of college football has adopted the Narduzzi pass coverage technique: "Keep holding on every play, especially on down field coverage, because the refs will only call 1 or 2 of them and with the 15 yard penalty the defense will come out much farther ahead....."

Yup, Rutgers did its Rutgers thing. Not a shocker.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma State is another program in a free-fall similar to UCLA's. Cowboys beaten by Tulsa last night. Mike Gundy might soon go the way of DeShaun Foster.

Not a lot of great games today. I'm interested in Michigan at Nebraska in the 3:30 time slot. Also, tonight Florida at Miami and Illinois at Indiana.

I'm watching Maryland at Wisconsin now only because of the conference connection. Texas Tech-Utah may be the best game available on paper...two top-20 teams...but it's very hard to work up any interest in that matchup.

I'm old enough to remember when he was the coaching flavor of the day. I even remember some of our fans wanting him to replace CJF.
Maybe not being aware and/or supported in what's now required to obtain players. The triple whammy is wrong coach, wrong AD, wrong administration. UCLA, for example, suffered from all three.

Yup, I don't know what Fickell's buyout is but if they lose this game in the fashion they're currently losing it, I would think his seat is gonna be pretty hot. As it is, the Wisconsin fan base is furious if the Twitter reaction is any guide.

Syracuse up 24-7 at Clemson.

What in the bloody blue blazes is happening with Clemson. They supposedly came into the year with a real shot at winning the whole enchilada.

Oakie St being so bad gives me a little more hope for PSU vs Oregon. When Oregon beat them 69-3 it seemed like a pretty bad omen in looking ahead to the PSU/Oregon game given that PSU seemed to be struggling against the first couple OOC teams.....

Yeah, I had the same thought visa vis Oregon. I mean, I knew that coming off last year's disaster, Oklahoma State wasn't very good this year. But I didn't realize they were in a state of collapse.

That said, Oregon's demolishing them is still more impressive than anything we've done against three walkovers.
