Next coaching candidates

Apparently Sitake is informing people he plans to stay In Provo according to thamel. I figured. Curious where Kraft goes now. Lol this is a true reality show.

I told you it would be, it doesn't take 50 days to find a coach that meets standards. Kraft thinks Penn State is like Man City, and he thinks he can sign a Pep. It's not, and the American football version of Pep is not interested. It's not a reality show, it's a $hit show. Kraft has officially put the giant asleep once again.

Who would have the authority to fire Kraft? They better be ready.

Within the last 30 minutes there have been at least two apparently reliable media reports that Sitake has turned down the Penn State job and will stay in Provo.

So another one bites the dust. Where do we go from here?

Not to worry. All is well...

The best is to come my friend. When they hire a two bit coach and Kraft gets on the podium to explain why the guy is such an amazing coach and perfect fit, and how the wait paid off. It will be a hoot! You all thought James Franklin's PCs were a load of crap? You are soon going to see the real toilet bowel.

I worked for a sports agency (one of the largest) for 6 years, I can tell you data don't lie. Sometimes it can be distorted if you are not comparing apples to apples (like Fickell, did great with OSU players). That being said, I know you are all into finding just a great coach, but they must be an even better recruiter, they need the players (again, see Fickell). It's all the things you mentioned, but resources equal players. And if you disagree with that equation, X equals players (fill in what the variable or variables X is).
Yep. Put together an aggressive recruiting structure (department) that understands the team's style and schemes, get help from famous lettermen (e.g. Saquon Barkley, Micah Parsons, Tyler Warren), and start recruiting accordingly. Mimic the Cignetti model and buy up the whole freaking FCS championship team, and get to seven wins next season.

An if we can find a coach that looks like Keegan-Michael Key, that would also be awesome!!:LOL:

You're probably right, but if I'm Kraft, I'm sitting down with Terry tonight, apologizing, and offering him the job.

A lot of our delusional fans still think it's 1986 and we're a hot-shot coaching destination. The reality is that it's 2025, we're a program in turmoil, and we remain the red-headed stepchild of the Big Suck. For some odd reason that's just not a terribly appealing job prospect.

I'd take Manny now too. Honestly, at this point, I'd take anyone (mostly).

It's pretty appealing. I mean, there are five conference wins built into the schedule most seasons for any coach not names Frankin.

Can't get that in the SEC. And then the next level down... well they are worse than PSU

Brian Hartline? That would be our DC version 2.0
I would be thrilled, high risk but high reward (possibly). I just don't see it though, Hartline interviewed very early in the process and apparently knocked it out of the park. And Ryan Day supports upward opportunity for his assistants, he said that a few weeks ago.

And yes, in the unlikely event Ryan Day leaves or is fired, Hartline will return to OSU. But if he can turn around this debacle and get PSU to the next level, who cares? The days of a ten or forty year coach are likely well behind us.

Hartline is the one candidate that I would not support. He's a 2x DUI offender with injuries caused. Julian Fleming was his #1 WR recruit a few years ago, played 3 years for him, and now will go to prison for killing his girlfriend on an ATV with a DUI EXACTLY as his recruiter and position coach modeled for him. Except Julian doesn't have the Ohio St athletic department to cover for him like Hartline did. If Hartline were hired, I would not attend or watch a PSU game until he is gone.

Well that's how I felt about the ****** new LSU coach.

I have no opinion on Hartline.
