Also saw that Evans is like 4th string at Washington and apparently has had a really bad last couple of weeks. Don't know if it's drops or what. Right now it's looking like Wallace and Evans left to ride the pine.
If Wallace is WR #4 @ Ole Miss he'll be playing. I will be seeing Ole Miss in person this year against Tulane in Oxford. One of our grandaughters is a Freshman this year @ Ole Miss.

Just saw another poster on another site saying that Wallace is actually potentially going to be the #2 WR at Ole Miss. So maybe he plays a lot. We'll see.

Wallace would be an improvement to our CURRENT WR room. He could definitely share reps with Hudson and Ross and also allow Ross to even spell Pena. In fact, if he wasn't forced to be covered by OSU and ND's #1 CB, he would get open better.

Evans being 3rd string and passed by a bunch of younger players is a sign of what we had last year. He was essentially our de facto #2.

There is a reason you hear Liam mentioned as "we'll work to implement his strengths."

I'm seeing posts that indicate that Wallace is anywhere from the 4th to the WR2 for Ole Miss. I don't think he's 3rd string unless I'm missing something.

I'm guessing that if he'd have stayed, there would be no Pena. We'd have only gone after 2 WRs in the portal. In that vein, I think we netted out a plus on his and especially Evans' loss.

I'm right there with you. Wallace was a good WR. He just isn't a WR1. Having an excellent TE like Warren helped him a lot, but it doesn't get you off the islands and press coverage that OSU and ND threw his way.

Throw in that his complimentary WR could only run one route effectively and you have a position group that will struggle against teams that will make the semi finals.

It seems so but we haven't seen any of Pena, Ross or Hudson in a game yet. I watched short versions of the playoff wins vs SMU and Boise St. last night and in those games Wallace and Evans made some plays to help win those games. I'm looking forward to Pena, Ross and Hudson lighting it up starting in a couple of weeks, but they all have yet to record a catch in a Blue & White uniform....

Plus, who knows if he could have spelled Allar vs ND.

Unless he was going to line up at WR and catch a couple passes, we didn't need his skill set vs ND. He could have fumbled on a Zone Read near the goal line just as likely as he could have scored.

Although with as inaccurate as Allar was, a change up series might could have gotten his head right.

Beau may not start At Missouri. Ouch. That would really suck if he gave up a run at a natty for that. Plus, who knows if he could have spelled Allar vs ND.

I doubt that Beau would have spelled Allar vs ND except for a sneak play or two.

Beau still has a chance to start for Mizzou. He had no chance to start ahead of Allar. The thing is that Beau would have been odds on favorite to start for PSU next year. Horn will still has 2 years of eligibility just like Beau.
