Off Season and Pre Season Articles Thread

Reading in a thread on 247
I just read through it. What is weird is there is a poster who says he was practicing today and the other one says he is injured. You would think the person who has access to practice would be the one in the know. Anyway, there are two #39s, Blanding and a safety. The poster said there was a #39 practicing with the DT. If this is anything then I would think we would get a report in the next 24-48 hours.

A lot of info we have discussed broken down by Knowles here. A lot of out assumptions were correct thus far based on his quotes.

Who is our #3 DE? He gushes about Coleman but I have heard Kemajou is ahead of him and Harvey ahead of him.

Gilliam clearly the #3 DT.

With the Lane news maybe Belgrave-Shorter moves ahead of him. Mack probably starting at safety.

Somebody should ask Knowles to compare Wheatley to Downs.

I believe Harvey is #3 DE to start with. Kemajou and Coleman are probably tied currently. Both will see time the 1st 3 games to see how they handle it. Oregon could be a different beast. Do we maintain the Prowler package or something similar? The rotations will be tightened for that game.

"Minor update at DT the two’s the last few days have been Gillliam with Wafle. At DE after DDS, Fisher, and Harvey the battle is between Williams, Coleman, and Yven"

"Artis has been practicing and is fine. Run stuffer"

Our poster from 247 board. Didn't see these mentioned.

No clarification on Blanding yet, but the 2nd poster saw a #39 at DT today, not safety. So perhaps that's a positive.

Also, espn already hyping the SEC with the latest FPI revision...

And people don’t believe in a media bias. Sports, politics, anything, there’s absolutely media bias in all of it.

I think Knowles is a straight shooter. If he wants to discuss something he gives a solid answer.

Franklin said Harvey was the #3 DE coming out of Spring practices. Lots of competition since then, especially with Coleman showing up in the Summer and getting right into the fray.

Until Franklin and/or Barnes tell us something more about where they stand, all three of Harvey, Kemajou and Coleman may be somewhere in the nos. 3,4,and 5 depth positions behind DDS and Fisher. And regardless of what order they come into games to start the season, each of the three may have strengths that individually would put them on the field in situations. For example, from what's been leaked Coleman may be in the game for pass rush opportunities. But I'm not discounting the possibility of one or more of the other young DE's making a move to within the top 5 as well, Robinson or Williams. Seems like Harris, Burnett and Jennings are headed for redshirts.

Having a talented and numerous young group of DE's competing to get on the field is a great problem to have!!
And Granville will be back for 2026!

"Ok guys I’m really happy to take the lap. Blanding was in a boot the entire past week and word was it was a break. Turns out it was not and he was indeed at practice. My apologies but that’s why sharing injury info can be really shaky as none of us are doctors or in the exam room. But I am really glad that I was wrong on this one."

Blanding update. Guess he missed some time, but apparently wasn't anything serious as he was back at practice today.

Close call. Glad he's back practicing. Hopefully those behind him took advantage of their increased practice reps.

Sounds to me like the original guy breaking the info is in the know and provides a lot of info when he gets it but may have just gotten bad info this time.

He knows somebody who has a lot of access, if not full access. I don't believe he is able to be there all the time himself, but he does seem to have observations (at least how he describes it).

I think this was a case of where he was told something that he didn't see, but didn't get a follow up on thereafter.

What I saw posted was that apparently Blanding was seen in a boot and someone extrapolated on what that meant. Then suddenly he's back to practicing.

Wasn't it reported that Lane was charged with Marijuana posession and that Woseley was charged with under age alcohol, which would seem to be a lessor offense. The other thing about the article vs the charges is that Knowles would seem to be strictly overseeing development and football evaluations, whereas Franklin would make any decisions regarding punishment and that decision would only be made after the investigation and situation plays out. Woseley could still miss a game or two and then work to regain his position in the depth chart.

So this is after the incident with State College Police regarding possession of Marijuana and underage possession of alcohol?
The article isn't clear. It does list the defensive players of the day but stops at practice 9. What practice are we on and why have I never seen an offensive player of the day this camp?
