Texas flash flood kills 24...20 still missing at youth camp

The "other side" DID things like that ... in fact, they did these things, and worse, and no one on that side condemned those responsible. In fact, many of the board members on the "other side" were the ones responsible.

But, yeah, you can do a google search for words like "LA wildfires deserve" and then repeat that on twitter, and the examples of that behavior are nearly endless.

Do you understand the difference between losing your home due to bad decisions and losing your life due to no decision?

Perhaps you don't.

PeePee the multiple bans disbarred Whale shark of the small mind, this is why you have no credibility.

It's absolutely INSANE that our reality is the Department of Homeland Security ... a federal government entity for which our trust is paramount ... is tweeting inflammatory things like this. If a certain party has deliberately lied, and you're going to put them on blast, you need to specifically identify them, and point out the specific lie and how it's wrong. You can't throw out inflammatory overbroad and nebulous terms like "mainstream media." You can't just hurl accusations, without identifying the alleged harmful actions. They're not trying to hold people responsible for lies, they're trying to attack and harm an entire industry. I know that a certain segment of our population has been conditioned to think this type of behavior is not only acceptable, but to be encouraged (and to participate in these actions themselves), but this is at the core of the problems we face today.
Because, the media is lying?

So, are you saying you think the folks who lost their property and/or lives to the LA wildfires deserved it?

Explain what the "bad decisions" or the "no decisions" were in the LA wildfires case that justify suggesting those folks deserved it, and the same for this tragic flash flooding that makes suggesting they deserved it an abomination.

Personally, I think both situations are tragic, and none of them deserved it, but you appear to think otherwise, so spell it out for a dumb dumb like me.

"The media" isn't a thing, in this respect.

If Jokerman walks up to someone and shoots John Doe dead, no one would or should say "the people shot John Doe dead." Sure, Jokerman is a person, but that's not an appropriate reference there.

You hold the responsible person accountable, not a vague grouping.

There is no actual "mainstream media" ... it's a label folks slapped on a bunch of entities, and no one knows exactly who does and does not fall into it.

If you're going to accuse someone of something, you need to be specific as to who and which acts.

Again, this is a governmental entity. It needs to act appropriately. It can't become a cesspool of childish mudslinging (at best).

If a particular media outlet told a specific lie, point out the individual offender, and the specific lie.

Pretty simple and expected in a civilized society.

You could try to explain yourself, but you know how bad it would make you look, so you won't. My original comments still stand as valid. You actually confirmed them. Thanks.

Yeah, well why don't you do that for me, Cuckoo Bird, and post the examples here.

Meanwhile, the record will show that...no surprise...you can't find it within yourself to condemn those who took such documented delight in the deaths of young Christian girls at a camp.

By the way, what is this, your 5th or 6th screen name. Maybe if you could maintain the pretense of rationality for more than a handful of posts, you wouldn't have to hide from all the previous handles that you have discredited by bilious ranting.

I am OK with it. DHS has put out several comments on the events leading up to the disaster, but the media isn't publishing that informaiton. You actually have to watch the DHS briefings or Fox News. That's pretty much it. If DHS is correct, they have no choice but to go direct using X or other social media sites.
Fox News is "media" and "mainstream media." Be specific about which information is not being presented at all by "mainstream media" and list out every mainstream media outlet.

OK, so Jerry is unable or unwilling to educate himself on the topic, but he did come to a false conclusion and condemned others based on bad information and refuses to actually double check himself. So there's that.

The record will show that I quite explicitly said: "Personally, I think both situations are tragic, and none of them deserved it, but you appear to think otherwise, so spell it out for a dumb dumb like me." And, yeah, that's a clear condemnation of anyone who comments that folks deserved to lose property, or their lives, via natural disaster.

So, wait ... you're standing firm that you're willing to judge others without sufficient knowledge? Shocking.

Trump warned them about the need to clear brush. The democrats said no. The fire departments said we need water. The democrats said no, and then diverted it to the ocean. But you knew that.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the post to which you responded. But you knew that. Or maybe you didn't. Either way, not a good look for you.

ABC, nbc, cbs, NYT, wapo, cnn, msnbc, Chicago trib, you know, all the ones that had to pay Trump for lying.

None of the examples you cited are remotely on par with or equivalent to the sentiments expressed by your friends to the effect that Texas and Texans "deserved" the suffering and death that the catastrophic flooding inflicted on them.

If you read the material you posted with a focus on English comprehension, I'm sure a smart boy like you would be able to pick out the difference between taking clear delight in the pain of people whose only crime is their voting preference (as in Texas on the one hand) and blaming the governing authorities for reckless policy decisions that helped set the stage for a disaster (as in California on the other hand).

Nobody in the links you posted made the statement that the people of California "deserved" the suffering that the fires inflicted on them. Just the opposite in fact.

Also, saying that both situations are tragic and none of the victims deserved what happened to them is a good start, but it was NOT the same as an outright condemnation of those who clearly took pleasure in the catastrophe that befell the Texas victims.

However, it's nice that now, when prodded, you offer a "clear condemnation" of your disgusting partisan allies. I would be happy to condemn anybody on my side of the divide who expressed similar sentiments about the California fires, but you provided no equivalent examples.

I'm sorry, I know it sucks to have so many rotten specimens of humanity on your political side, but you should ask yourself what it is about your Party that attracts such vermin.

You only did half the ask. And it's not a meaningful response without the other half.

As an aside, is your contention that Fox News is not “mainstream media” or even “media,” as you suggested earlier?

Jerry, stop lying. Not only are there direct messages in there contradicting your claim, but Trump supporters also took so much joy in using the wildfires to attack the other side, it was inhuman. They even threatened to withhold aid unless they got certain things out of it. Abhorrent. And from the leadership on down through many of the followers (if not most), including your son.

As for the rest of your bloviating over-the-top nonsense, I live in the normal world. Not the crazy extremist fire and brimstone world you've created for yourself. We don't have to announce we condemn bad things out here in the normal world ... we just do. And I even went out of my way, knowing my audience was not normal, to assure everyone it wasn't acceptable behavior. And, yet, you still went off the reservation.

My "political side" is down the middle. I don't care for either extreme. The "vermin" are on both sides. Clearly. The rest of us are stuck here listening to the extremes call each other "vermin."
