Then he argues that, if we treat 13 year olds as 23 year olds, as they were, allegedly, in the past ... and successfully, according to him ... that they'll be fine.

So, now we have a guy saying "hey, treating 10-19 year olds is a modern day plague, and if we treat 13 year olds as 23 year olds, they'll be just fine."

In case you weren't aware, 23 year olds, in today's American society, can vote, have sex with whoever they want, marry, have full-time jobs ... you know, basically do whatever.

Then you add in that he's saying that teenage pregnancy isn't the problem - it's UNWED teenage pregnancy. He's also making sure we know that women are at their most fertile before they're considered adults in today's society.

To any reasonable person, he's advocating for young teenagers to be married off, impregnated, and sent off to work.

We also know, based on his other ramblings throughout his "career" that he's big on "men work, women in the kitchen popping out kids" ... so he's advocating for young teenage girls to be married off and impregnated, forced to live a subservient life.

Now, I understand why you rush to his defense - you've argued that we should be employing/exploiting underage children to work in family businesses, so you're at least generally on board with this reduction in the age of "responsibility" from what modern-day society would advocate.

But that doesn't change what he's said.

They then chopped and distorted this comment to produce the fantastic lie that Matt is a closet pedophile who favors "impregnating 13-year olds." That's what they went with. That was the glorious scoop intended to end Matt's career. In fact, it was so thin and so lame and so grotesquely false that even some of the Usual Suspects on the Left wouldn't touch it, leaving only the most rabid nutjobs to carry the torch.

And here's where the story really gets good. Matt did a response titled Kiss My ***, which went viral...and not long thereafter the whole thing blew up in the faces of those who hatched the tale. It did not damage Matt. On the contrary, he picked up 200,000 Twitter followers in the space of a couple weeks. Then, as icing on the cake, Vanderbilt announced just days later that it was shutting down its program of "gender-affirming care" which Matt Matt had exposed on his show a few months earlier.

Tennessee then enacted a law -- Matt testified at the legislative hearing -- banning the practice in the state. This is the very law that the Supreme Court affirmed in a landmark ruling a few weeks ago. One lone guy was instrumental in bringing all this about, and that guy was Matt Walsh. Needless to say, this has only fueled the rage of the world's Cuckoo Birds.

Since then, Matt has made two record-breaking movies. He's closing in on 4 million Twitter followers. He was named by the New York Times as one of the nation's most influential conservative commentators. His daily show is one of the most popular in conservative media. None of this could have happened...or would have been possible...if there had been even an ounce of truth to any of the lurid accusations that are now pretty much the province of a band of ranting Internet losers like Cuckoo Bird.

As for Matt, he's a public figure on a public platform and as such is fair game for public criticism and opposition, whether on message boards, college campuses, or anywhere else. But there are lines of fairness and decency that should not be crossed.

Those crossing them have neither the intellectual ability nor the integrity to actually engage on issues so they default to tantrums, threats, lies, slander...and violence. That's not a healthy thing for a democracy, which is why our democracy is none too healthy in the Year of Our Lord 2025.
