Week 10: Penn State at #1 Ohio State (Noon, Fox) Game Thread

Runs up the middle and slow-developing passes is exactly NOT what to do.
All season we have not had an effective passing game. We have 95 yards passing so far today. No one is afraid of our passing game which will continue to hurt the run game. Ohio State can load the box without any risk

Day, Hartline, Knowles, et al, are perceived to be successful at OSU. It's the program. The admin and booster support, the fans, the culture will not let the program falter. PSU is now spending the money thinking it can get there, but the commitment must be big and in all areas. And it's not in the weight machines, the awesome training table, the GAs dressed in PSU attire holding PSU bags, or dressed up in ref stripes for a practice. BUY seasoned, savvy, demanding coaches and the players who like to excel and win. That's how it works in this day and age until things are better regulated.

So, if PSU knew that OSU would do this in the second half, and they did, then both coaching and players need a complete reassessment.

Whether Allar, Gronk, Brady, whoever, Franklin/Kotelnicki have provided no viable passing game. The preseason hype covered up some serious mismanagement. Kraft saw this as a businessman and fired Franklin. IMO, Kraft, the businessman, must make a home run hire. It's not Drinkwitz, Brown, or Hartline. It must be someone who can immediately bring in 8-10 top portal players and deliver a DI passing attack and defense. A three to five year "sensible" rebuild plan (i.e. "we don't want to spend too much") will not work.
Who is that?
