Is tomorrow the first day of fall practice?

Some more updates from 247 board poster. I'll drop it below as he wrote it. My comments, if any will be in [ ] ...

---

Right now best I can tell Mack and Belgrave Shorter are practicing in this role [wrt to 5th DB in Knowles defense]

Some WR updates …

Expect to see a Koby Howard highlight reel come out. Wow.

Pena crisp smooth route running.

Hudson is really good.

[Somebody commented about Kaden Saunders not seeing the field and he replied "correct"]

---

Ross is still in baby blue, no contact jersey. Nothing noticeable like a boot.
I'll take those three if Ross is a temporary no go.

Am I ready to be lured into optimism about the WR room?

Nice to see

Maybe it's just a perpetual fear of players not working out that has kept hype off him, but Campbell has slightly better stats than Rojas and its seems they've played close to the same amount of football. (Slight edge to Rojas as he had a playoff run) The big deviation is sacks, which favors Campbell.

This could be the biggest return on investment of the defense.

Kaden Saunders is out with a "long-term injury" per On3 McAndrew front page.

That sucks. He was a top 100 kid, maybe even top 50 from his class.
His entire career has been snake bitten. Could never stay healthy and when he was just could never make any kind of impact. I guess a little on ST. He was a big time recruit who unfortunately did not even really have a career. I wonder if he had worked his way up the depth chart to get meaningful snaps as it would have been exciting to see what he could finally do. I hope he recovers and maybe still can contribute next season if that is possible. I also hope he is on track to get his degree. Does he have any eligibility after this season?

Listed as a RS Junior, so he definitely has 1 more year. Could probably petition and have a 2nd granted based on injury this year, but those are never a given.
As often as he has been injured he keeps falling behind. Might be time to think about another future other than playing. Maybe if he graduates he could be considered for GA position with the team.

Couple more notes from the 247 poster...

"He’s off to a good start." (Responding to somebody asking for a Josiah Brown update

"He’s running at LB but not likely to see the field in real games this year." (Responded to Dakari Nelson question)

Film breakdown. Never seen this guy before. Best Available is his name on YouTube. Said he was at the Oregon game last year for Yahoo Sports.

First play he breaks down, Clifford on a Dig route drops the pass. Slightly behind him throw, yes. CB did have safety help, but Clifford ran the route very well (he's solid finding the opening in zone coverage). But a drop.

Footage from today's practice.

-Wylie was 2nd in LB drill shown.

-Howard was 3rd in the Out route drill behind Hudson and Pena.

-Harvey #44 made a good shed and grab during a 3 OL vs 3 defenders drill. Went back and watched. Was definitely #44.
