Week 6: #7 Penn State at UCLA (3:30 PM, CBS) Game Thread

The coaches didn’t even know the UCLA punter was going to slow run it out of the endzone. They are fraudulent.
Kraft. Do your job.

And with the season on the line, they call a run by Drew on 4th down instead of letting him throw the ball.

A run by drew would be fine, from under center or with a blocker

Whatever the **** that was, running guys sideways when we know they will blitz was stupid.

Well, at least some of us have wrestling to look forward to. Although with David Taylor at Oklahoma State, that could get interesting.

Poor game day management AGAIN. Franklin must go. This has to be one of the worst losses in the program's history
Give UCLA credit. They were the better team today. They never let up. We didn't start playing until the second half. We lost to I-AA Cincinnati (they got relegated to I-AA because of attendance) 14-3 at home in 1983 to go 0-2 after a National Championship in 1982. We also lost to Toledo at home in 2000. We lost to Temple in Franklin's second season. We've had some bad losses. We'll be lucky to go 8-4 now with Iowa, Ohio State, and Indiana down the road. Even Northwestern has to be taken seriously now. I don't expect Franklin to be fired because we have too much money tied up to pull it off right now.

I think we also have to see what happens with UCLA down the line. If they go 1-11, then we really suck. If they end up 6-6 or so, then it doesn't look that bad.

They are/were not the better team; our staff failed miserably.

I do give UCLA credit. They were the better team today. But we are the better team...period. And there's no excuse for losing to a team we were rightfully favored to beat by almost 4 TDs.

Franklin had a good run. He came close...but no cigar. Time to give somebody else a chance. And fire the high-price coordinators too, starting with the Ohio State guy who got paid millions of dollars to give up 42 points to a winless team that was arguably one of the worst in the country.

Seems like he/coaches have lost the room. 8-4 might be too optimistic 😞

Paying a guy with the most talented players right at his peak was a Franklin thing to do.

That's mismanagement
